Trust me to rise to the needs of the El Paso citizens

I strive to be the ideal commissioner for El Paso County, a true servant leader who listens with a compassionate heart; speaks for balance, equality and inclusion, firmly when needed and respectfully always; acts decisively with a singular focus on the greater good for all county residents. I rise above partisanship to address the felt needs and concerns of our citizens with real, practical solutions to improve our lives, both today and tomorrow.

For one true measure of a nation is its success in fulfilling the promise of a better life for each of its members.

- President John F. Kennedy

I believe in honest, transparent communication with all of the citizens I represent. I choose to do and say the right thing, even when it is difficult to do so. I build trust and confidence by acting in ways that are consistent with the commitments I have made to serve my constituents in District 2. I deal with everyone in the spirit of justice and fairness.

Simply put, I know what it takes to lead. My time of the Board of Education for Academy District 20 (8 years total, 6 years as President or Vice President) gave me the skills to be able to listen to all voices, to understand the complexity of issues, and to develop and implement practical solutions that benefit us all.

I am not a partisan politician. I strive for genuine partnership, with my fellow commissioners, with the public servants who work for us, and most especially with the citizens of El Paso County. I build relationships that allow us to co-create lasting transformation. Together, in a spirit of openness and respect, we find innovative and practical approaches to create the best possible community for every resident.
